Yes, I know. Heffalumps have existed for a very long time. Certainly Winnie-the-Pooh knew they were in the Hundred Acre Wood many years ago. But my heffalumps are new heffalumps, and like all heffalumps they have mommies and daddies. So perhaps I should start these adventures with a mention and some pictures of my heffalumps’ Mommy and Daddy. Properly, their story does not begin on a dark and stormy night, but rather on a day of beauty and innocence.
On a beautiful day by the ocean, the Winters and the Wheelers gathered for a celebration.
Megan and I joined
Mark, Carol Lynn, and Chris.
All the family joined us – on Chris’ side, brothers and an uncle plus Julie and the the Winters’ first heffalump.
and our side, Minerva, Danny, and David plus special ladies arrived in plenty of time.
The mood was festive
As we all sat by the ocean, Megan and Chris made their entrance. (Hey, I can say, “Ain’t Megan gorgeous?”)
They had a simple ceremony,
Sealed with a kiss.
To great applause –
even from the first heffalump, they were joined in marriage.
And then we all celebrated.
We can end this post on a hint of heffalumps to come!
I remember it so well. It was a truly wonderful weekend! And that first little heffulump is now 16 and about to get her drivers license! How time flies!!
